The Rochester Precision Optics Night Vision Device - Next Gen or NVD-N Program introduces a new high performance lightweight lens system that offers the following improvements over standard US Milspec optics:
• Larger Eye Box
• Higher Light Transmission
• Lighter Weight
• Shorter Profile
• Less Optical Distortion
Improvements over the previous RPO 3.0 system include:
• Larger Eye Box
• Less Optical Distortion
• Improved Zone 3 Resolution
• Compatibility with Milspec Diopter Adjustment Mechanisms
• Objective lens is the same as the 3.0 Objective lens
• Eyepiece has major changes and is distortion matched for most Milspec optics.
Both the Eyepiece and Objective lens exceed US Milspec requirements.
